Some writers don’t want to publish their writings; they prefer reading it for pleasure. However, we are not solely talking about this kind of writers, instead we are referring to those that are into writing, and who want their works to be read by millions of people.
If this is your ultimate goal, then you will have to venture into the field of creative writing. Creative writing entails developing good ideas, ideologies, having the necessary writing tools, tips, and information. If you lack information, you will never communicate well.
Through writing, you communicate and engage with millions of people- many of whom you may not be able to meet all through your life, but opportunity has made it possible for you to meet them in your work. Thus, you need to engage their hearts and minds in an effective manner.
Creative writing is honed through practice, training, feedback, publication, multiple revisions and so on. no matter your interest, whether it is in writing creative-nonfiction, fiction, short stories, articles, eBooks, website contents, blog posts, journaling / autobiography etc, all you need to do is to master the necessary skills.
Creative writing is not something you venture overnight; you must be prepared both in mind and body for it. You can develop quality content from a story you read over the internet, newspaper, magazine, and so on. As a creative writer, it will be good to be carrying a notebook anywhere you are going, so that you can be jotting down ideas as they flip through your memory. Most often, an idea can pass through your mind this minute, but you may not be able to remember that same idea in the next few hours.
However, the idea itself might be something that would have helped you to solve a particular situation, but your inability to remember them will linger the unresolved issue. Ideas are meant to upgrade your life style. A man of ideas is richer than a man with lots of cash, because if he turns those ideas into money, he will surely move mountains. This is why some contemporary philosophers believe firmly that ideas rules the world, the same ideas also ruins the world, especially if they are not properly channeled.
Pursuing a career in creative writing entails having the right ideas, for the right purpose. The idea that you can use in writing your work can come from the blues. Or at least, the idea you got from a particular source can contribute to a chapter or a paragraph in your writing.
Feel free to enroll in a seminar or a creative writing program around you. Among other things, they will give you constructive criticisms, guidelines, rules, and regulations involved. The good news is that being part of such programs can take your writing career to completely new levels.
Many of the world class creative writers started like that. Over 70% of them didn’t go to high class creative schools, but they were able to implement what they were taught, together with their efforts and luck. Today, they are celebrated across the globe.
